Privacy Policy for Kartoonify

Last updated: September 26, 2026

Pocket AI Labs ("Pocket AI Labs", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the Kartoonify mobile application for iOS and Android (the "App").

This policy works together with our Terms of Service. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Our Privacy Promise (Plain-Language Summary)

This summary is for convenience only and is not legally binding. If it conflicts with the rest of this Policy, the rest controls.

  • Your images stay on your device. Kartoonify does all processing locally. Your original photos stay on your phone — we do not upload, send, store, or view your photos, camera frames, face data, or generated images. An image leaves your device only when you actively share it (by email, instant message, SMS, or another app) or turn it into a product.
  • Basic analytics only. We collect limited, non-image usage and crash data to improve reliability. This data does not include your photos.
  • We do not sell your data. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
  • No personal accounts. You do not need to create an account or provide personal information to use the App.
  • Your content is yours. You own your images and everything we generate. We never access them.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 We Do Not Collect Your Images or Face Data

Because Kartoonify processes everything on your device, Pocket AI Labs does not collect, receive, store, or transmit your photos, camera frames, generated images, face images, face templates, or any biometric or face-derived data. No image content ever leaves your device through our systems.

This is true even for features like face swap or style transfer: all matching and generation happens on-device, and we have no ability to see or access what you process.

2.2 Analytics and Diagnostics We Do Collect

To understand how the App performs and to fix problems, we collect limited, non-image usage and diagnostic data:

  • App lifecycle events (for example, app startup and app-ready events);
  • Feature and screen usage, and counts of operations performed;
  • Performance metrics such as processing duration and whether an operation succeeded or failed;
  • Device and environment information (device model, OS version, app version, locale);
  • Crash reports and technical diagnostics, including crashes of native components.

2.3 Information We Do Not Collect

Unless you choose to contact us, we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, physical address, payment information, contacts, location data, microphone or audio recordings, or camera or gallery contents beyond what is processed on your device.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the limited information we collect only to:

  • Maintain and improve the App's performance and reliability;
  • Diagnose crashes and technical problems;
  • Understand general usage patterns to guide product decisions;
  • Comply with applicable law or enforce our Terms of Service.

4. How Your Images Are Protected

Because all processing is on-device, your images are not stored on any Pocket AI Labs server, cloud storage, or database, and we cannot access, view, or recover them.

Your original photos stay on your phone — nothing is uploaded or stored unless you choose to do so. An image leaves your device only when you actively share it (by email, instant message, SMS, or another app) or turn it into a product. Face data is held only in memory during processing and is written to no database. Pocket AI Labs could not access your images even if it wanted to.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

ServicePurposeInfo handled by provider
Google Firebase AnalyticsUsage analyticsNon-image usage and device data; not your photos
Google Firebase CrashlyticsCrash reportingCrash and diagnostic data; not your photos
Apple App Store / Google PlayDistribution, updates, purchasesAccount and billing data governed by their terms

We do not control these providers' privacy practices; review their own privacy policies. Your device's operating-system controls may let you limit some collection (for example, App Tracking Transparency on iOS or ad-ID settings).

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps. You should supervise children's use of any app that captures photos.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding any personal data we hold about you, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port that data, and to object to or restrict its use. Because we collect minimal personal data, these rights are limited in practice. You can also exercise some privacy controls through your device's operating-system settings. To exercise any rights, contact us using the details in Section 9.

8. Data Retention

We retain only the limited analytics and diagnostic data needed for the purposes in this Policy, for as long as necessary to provide and improve the App, or as required by law. We do not retain any image content from the App.

Note for reviewers. This Privacy Policy is based on a template describing Kartoonify's on-device processing and analytics. Pocket AI Labs should have it reviewed by qualified legal counsel before publication, particularly regarding biometric / face-data regulation (for example BIPA and GDPR Article 9), children's privacy (COPPA), and consumer-protection law in each market where the App is distributed.
